Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla Graces 56th Foundation Day Of State Museum

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, accompanied by the First Lady, attended the 56th Foundation Day celebration of the Manipur State Museum in Imphal today.

On the occasion, the Governor released the book “Hiyang Hiren of Churachand Maharaja” authored by K. Sobita Devi and inaugurated a special exhibition showcasing photographs of Hiyang Hiren and rare artifacts, including gold and silver ornaments. He also planted an Uningthou Nachumbi sapling under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative.

Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel was also present at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Bhalla lauded the museum’s efforts in preserving Manipur’s cultural heritage for over five decades. Describing museums as “living institutions” that bridge the past, present, and future, he underlined their importance in educating younger generations about the state’s rich legacy.
