Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired a high-level COVID-19 review meeting today at the Conference Hall of Raj Bhavan, focusing on the state’s preparedness in light of recent advisories from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, senior medical officials from the State Health Department, and other concerned authorities.
Officials briefed the Governor on various aspects of the state’s preparedness, including diagnostic facilities, availability of personal protective equipment (PPE), oxygen supply, ICU and isolation ward readiness, essential drug stockpiles, and monitoring through the IDSP–IHIP portal.
Challenges such as limited testing capacity, gaps in medical supplies, and hospital readiness were also discussed. The Governor emphasized the need for proactive measures, robust medical infrastructure, and widespread public awareness to ensure the state is adequately equipped to tackle any potential resurgence of COVID-19 cases.
