Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today launched the Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0 at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. Organised jointly by the National Health Mission (NHM) Manipur and the Directorate of Health Services, the 60-day campaign aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and promote a tobacco-free Manipur.
The campaign will focus on education, enforcement, and community-based initiatives across all districts.
The Governor emphasised the need for sustained collective efforts to protect the youth from the dangers of tobacco use.
In a separate meeting, Governor of Manipur chaired a review meeting at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, to assess the progress of the Jiribam–Khongsang–Tupul–Imphal Railway Project. Once completed, the railway line will link Imphal to the national network — boosting tourism, promoting industrial growth, creating jobs, and advancing Manipur’s socio-economic development.
