Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired a high-level review meeting on the state’s education system at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, on Thursday. The discussion centred on strengthening the quality and reach of school education across the state.
Secretary of the Department of Education (Schools), N. Praveen Singh, delivered a detailed presentation highlighting progress in school enrolment. The presentation also offered a district-wise analysis of school distribution, identifying areas showing improvement and those requiring targeted interventions to boost enrolment rates.
Governor Bhalla underscored the need for high-quality, inclusive, and equitable education for every child in Manipur. He stressed the significance of national initiatives such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in transforming the state’s educational landscape.
He further highlighted the critical role of improved infrastructure, digital learning tools, and well-trained teachers in shaping a better future for the youth of Manipur.
Director of Education (S), Ng. Bhogendra Meitei, Joint Secretary Education (S), Anjali Chongtham, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
