Manipur Governor Reviews Key Infrastructure And Environmental Projects

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired two high-level review meetings at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal today, focusing on critical infrastructure development and environmental conservation in the state.

According to an official statement, the first meeting, held at the conference hall of the Raj Bhavan, reviewed the progress of the Civil Secretariat construction project being executed by the Public Works Department (PWD). The Chief Engineer of PWD presented a detailed report on the project’s current status, key milestones, and areas requiring attention. Governor Bhalla emphasized the importance of timely completion to boost administrative efficiency in the state.

In a separate meeting later in the day, the Governor met with officials of the Loktak Development Authority (LDA) to assess the progress of the Integrated Management Plan (IMP) for the conservation of Loktak Lake. LDA officials highlighted recent developments and challenges faced in implementing conservation initiatives.

Acknowledging the issues raised, Governor Bhalla assured full support from his office to help overcome the hurdles and advance ecological restoration efforts for the iconic lake.

Both meetings were attended by senior state officials, including the Chief Secretary, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, and Secretaries.
