Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in various relief camps across Manipur have appealed to the State Government to prioritize their resettlement before organizing the upcoming Sangai Festival.

Addressing a press conference at the Manipur Press Club, representatives of the displaced families urged the government to implement its proposed phase-wise resettlement plan at the earliest. They emphasized that ensuring the safe return and rehabilitation of displaced persons should take precedence over festival preparations.

The State Government recently announced that the Manipur Sangai Festival will be held next month after a two-year hiatus caused by the ongoing conflict in the state.
