Acting on reliable intelligence provided by 46 Assam Rifles, a joint security operation was launched early this morning at Langmeidong Mamang Awang Leikai. The operation, which began at 6:00 am, was conducted by a combined team comprising the Commando Unit Kakching, personnel from Wangoo Police Station (WKG-PS), and a platoon of F-Coy, 151 Bn. BSF.

During the operation, security forces apprehended Leisangthem Rajesh Singh (30), alias Malemnganba, son of Leishangthem Kullabidhu Singh, a top-ranking cadre of the banned outfit KCP (Taibangnanba). The arrested individual reportedly holds the position of Vice Chairman within the organization and was reportedly involved in extortion, recruitment of cadres, and kidnapping across Kakching, Thoubal, and Imphal West districts.

Authorities also recovered three mobile phones from his possession. Following the arrest, the accused and the seized items were handed over to the concerned police station for further investigation.
