Security forces arrested an active member of the proscribed United National Liberation Front (K) on November 9 from Lamjao Makha Leikai near Pukhri Achouba under Waikhong Police Station in Kakching district.

The arrested individual has been identified as Ningthoujam Inaocha alias Palor alias Pandamba, 40, of Heirok Part-II, Chingdompok in Thoubal district. Security sources stated that he had been actively involved in extorting money from the public in the area.

During the operation, personnel recovered a .32 pistol with a magazine, three rounds of ammunition, a voter ID card, a mobile phone with two SIM cards, a purse containing Rs 41,200 in cash, and a two-wheeler used for movement.

The arrested cadre and the seized items have been handed over to the concerned police authorities for further investigation.
