Manipur Police have intensified intelligence-based combing and cordon-and-search operations across the state to crack down on extortion activities. As part of these efforts, a significant arrest was made on Sunday.

A 40-year-old active member of the proscribed outfit PREPAK (Pro), identified as Tonjam Arjun Singh alias Arangba, was apprehended by police from Mayang Imphal Bazar in Imphal West District. A resident of Lilong Chajing Chingkhong Leikai, Singh was allegedly involved in extortion activities in the valley area.

Authorities have confirmed that the operations will continue in the coming days as part of a broader crackdown on insurgent-linked criminal networks.
