A joint team comprising the Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC), Manipur Pollution Control Board, and Imphal West Commando conducted a raid along Masjid Road in Paona Bazar, Imphal, seizing a significant quantity of banned single-use plastic (SUP) items.

During the operation, the team confiscated a total of 1,011 kilograms of SUP from a single shop and adjoining godown, marking one of the largest such seizures in recent times.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to enforcing the ban on single-use plastic in the state and warned of strict action against violators.
