As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, the Manipur Police Department, in collaboration with the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, organised a “Har Ghar Tiranga” bike rally.
The rally was jointly flagged off from Hatta Kangjeibung by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS), and Director General of Police Rajiv Singh (IPS). It concluded at the historic Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
Over 1,000 riders from more than 20 prominent rider clubs across Manipur, along with personnel from various units of Manipur Police, took part in the event, carrying the national flag through the route to spread the message of unity and patriotism.
DGP Rajiv Singh, who attended the culmination ceremony as Chief Guest, was received at Khongjom by Thoubal Deputy Commissioner Hannah Kamei (IAS) and senior police officials. In his address, the DGP lauded the enthusiastic participation of the rider clubs in taking the “Har Ghar Tiranga” message to the people and acknowledged their role in fostering a sense of national pride.
He also interacted with the riders and presented mementos to club representatives as a token of appreciation. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to the ideals symbolised by the tricolour.
