Manipur Police on Wednesday arrested six suspected individuals linked to Arambai Tenggol (AT) in connection with the abduction and subsequent death of 33-year-old Md. Nawash of Keirang Mayai Leikai under Heingang Police Station.

The victim was reportedly abducted from his home on January 14 by suspected members of AT for ransom. He was later brought dead to Thoubal District Hospital, a statement by Manipur Police said.

The arrested individuals are Sagolsem Chingkheinganba Singh (25), Chingakham Sanatomba Singh (19), Sapam Somorjit Singh (32), Maibam Bokenjit Singh (24), Athokpam Jiban Singh (30) and Chingakham Mani Singh (41). Police have confirmed that further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, a statement by Arambai Tenggol denied involvement in the incident, claiming that miscreants misused their name to carry out the crime. Authorities are working to verify the claim and uncover the full circumstances surrounding the case.
