Manipur Police have arrested three drug smugglers in two separate operations carried out in Imphal East district and Sekmai area, seizing narcotic substances and vehicles used in the illegal trade.

According to police, on March 12, 2026, two drug smugglers were arrested from the Yairipok Yambem area under Andro Police Station in Imphal East district. The accused have been identified as Md. Najimuddin (31) of Yairipok Ningthounai Mathak Leikai and Md. Jabir (27) of Yairipok Ningthounai. During the operation, police seized approximately 1.04 kilograms of brown sugar from their possession. Two mobile phones along with SIM cards and a Honda Dio two-wheeler scooter bearing registration number MN06-SX-5443 were also recovered.

In another operation conducted on March 13, 2026, police arrested a drug smuggler at the Sekmai Police Station gate naka checkpoint.

The accused has been identified as Abdul Kalam Azad (32) of Dimapur, Nagaland. Police seized approximately 261 grams of heroin powder from his possession along with a four-wheeler Chevrolet Cruze bearing registration number NL-07C-0870.

Police have registered cases in connection with the seizures and further investigation is underway.
