In a series of coordinated operations across the state, Manipur Police and security forces carried out multiple arrests and seizures on September 1, targeting insurgents, drug traffickers, and illegal liquor trade.

Police arrested Laikhuram Bhogendro Singh alias Inao (58), an active cadre of the proscribed outfit KCP (NOYON), from Imphal East. In a separate operation, PREPAK cadre Irengbam Ibomcha Meitei alias Anthony was apprehended by security personnel from the Gourangor area under Lamlai police station.
In Kakching district, two residents of Andro Khuman Leikai, Imphal East, were detained from the Buffalo farm area with 260 litres of illicit liquor and a four-wheeler.

A major drug bust was also reported in Lilong Hangamthabi, Thoubal district, where security forces apprehended Makakmayum Musharaf and Mrs. Ruhani. The team seized 2.357 kg of methamphetamine (WY) tablets, cash worth ₹2.04 lakh, six mobile phones, notebooks, multiple identity cards, a walkie-talkie set with charger, and jewelry items from their possession.
Meanwhile, as part of its ongoing campaign against traffic violations, police also removed tinted films from six vehicles across different parts of the state on August 31.
The coordinated actions underline the government’s sustained crackdown on insurgency, narcotics, illicit liquor trade, and traffic offences in Manipur.
