Manipur Police Verify Over 2,400 Individuals In ILP Drive, 170 Individuals Without Valid Passes Held

As part of a special drive to detect illegal immigrants and foreign nationals without valid documents, Manipur Police have verified 2,412 individuals over the past week across Senapati district. The operation, led by the Senapati District Police Task Force, found 170 individuals without valid Inner Line Permit (ILP) passes, while 134 others were carrying expired ILP documents.

According to police, the defaulters were taken to the Mao Gate ILP counter and were made to obtain the required ILP passes on the spot. No illegal immigrants have been detected so far during the verification process.

The drive covered market areas, National Highway-2, the Maram-Peren road, Tadubi-Tolloi road, and various inter-village routes falling under different police station jurisdictions in the district. Simultaneously, thorough checks are being carried out at all border entry points to prevent unauthorized entry.

Officials stated that the special drive will continue in the coming days as part of efforts to strengthen regulation and ensure compliance with ILP norms in the state.
