Security Forces and Manipur Police carried out coordinated operations on Wednesday across the valley districts, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals and the seizure of firearms, ammunition, cash and communication devices.

In Thoubal District’s Heirok Part-III Kabo Leikai, forces apprehended 20-year-old Naorem Punshiba Meitei, alias Baby, an active cadre of the banned KCP (MFL). A .32-calibre pistol, complete with magazine and three live rounds, was recovered from his possession. Shortly thereafter in Imphal East’s Porompat area, officers arrested 31-year-old Chingakham Priyobarta Meitei, alias Lepa, a member of the proscribed UPPK outfit, at Wangkhei Andro Parking near the Wal United Youth Club.

Manipur Police also detained 25-year-old Sinthangamba Konsham Mangang of Heirok Part-III, a known serial offender implicated in multiple mob-related attacks—among them assaults on the SP Thoubal and DC Thoubal offices, and incidents under Singjamei and Keishampat police jurisdictions. In Thoubal Pakhangkhong Leirak, authorities arrested 33-year-old Waikhom Rohit Singh, alias Phurupngakpa, in connection with an ongoing National Investigation Agency probe in Imphal.

In a separate operation under City Police Station, Imphal West, Manipur Police swooped on four suspects near MG Avenue by Aadarsh Laboratory. Three were identified as active members of the outlawed RPF/PLA outfit—50-year-old Moirangthem Chaobi Singh, alias Yaima, of Heirok Part-II Laishram Leikai; 32-year-old Longjam Birabal Singh of Heirok Part-II Chingol; and 44-year-old Khangembam Sovas Singh, alias Deepak, of Sanjenbam Khunou. Their associate was named as 40-year-old Naorem Shyamkumar Singh of Kakching Chumnang Leikai. Police seized seven mobile phones, a wallet, two Aadhaar cards, one driving licence, ₹4,560 in cash and a four-wheeler vehicle from the group.

All arrested individuals and the recovered items have been handed over to the respective police stations—where formal cases have been registered and further investigations are underway, according to official reports.
