Manipur Security Forces Crack Down On Insurgent Network, Arrest Two KCP (PWG) Cadres

Security forces in Manipur have intensified their crackdown on militant networks across the state, resulting in the arrest of two active cadres of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) or KCP (PWG). The arrests were made during coordinated operations in Bishnupur district and Imphal West district.

Thoudam Santosh Singh alias Henthoiba, 23, from Thoubal Leishangthem Thoudam Mamang Leikai, was apprehended from Moirang Okshongbung, Ward No. 11, Bishnupur district. Singh allegedly collected a significant amount of extortion money from schools and colleges in Thoubal district. During the arrest, security forces seized one mobile phone and an Aadhaar card from his possession.

In a separate operation, Potshangbam Jeet Meetei alias Norjit, 55, from Khagempalli Panthak, Imphal West district, was arrested from Kekrupat, North AOC. Meetei was reportedly involved in extortion activities, targeting the general public, brick field owners, and government employees. Security forces recovered one mobile phone and Rs 100 from him.

These arrests are part of a broader effort by security forces to dismantle insurgent networks and restore law and order in Manipur.
