Manipur: Security Forces Recover Arms And Ammunition In Multiple Operations

Security forces conducted a series of operations across Manipur, leading to the recovery of a large cache of weapons and equipment.

In a search operation at Maojang village under Moreh Police Station, Tengnoupal District, security forces recovered one AK-56 rifle, two 9mm pistols with magazines, one 40mm Lathode gun, four grenades (including 2 Chinese hand grenades), five handsets with 3 chargers, four headphones, two slings and one Kenbo bike.

In another operation at SL Zougam under Machi Police Station, Tengnoupal District, the following were recovered three improvised mortars, two musket rifles, one broken magazine, one spotter scope, two binoculars, one monocular sight, one helmet, five bulletproof vests (without plates) and two rifle slings.

Additionally, security forces recovered more arms from Irong village under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Thoubal District, including one SLR rifle with magazine, one 5.56mm rifle, five grenades (4 HE hand grenades, 1 Chinese hand grenade), five rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, three tear smoke shells, two Baofeng radio sets with an antenna and charger and two magazines for a 5.56mm rifle. Further investigations are underway.
