The observance of Shaphee Lanphee Day was held on Thursday at the residence of Maisnam Lalini Devi in Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak, Imphal East, commemorating the GI registration of Shaphee Lanphee on December 19, 2011.

The event featured the presentation of the ‘Smt. Phamdom Ningol Maisnam Ongbi Keinahambi Devi Memorial Shaphee Lanphee Award 2024,’ recognizing artisans dedicated to preserving this cultural heritage.

M. Dolendro Singh, Vice President of Janata Dal (United), attended as Chief Guest, and national awardee Maisnam Lalini Devi presided over the ceremony, both highlighting the need to protect traditional art forms and foster community unity.
