A six-day Udyam Registration Drive was organised at Nute Kailhang (Women’s Market), Kangpokpi town, under the guidance of Smt. Rita Misao, Deputy Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC) and Commerce. The initiative was held under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, a Central sector programme of the Ministry of MSME supported by the World Bank.
Addressing the participants, Rita Misao highlighted the objectives of the drive, its registration process, and the benefits of enrolling under Udyam. She informed vendors that registered MSMEs can avail of various government subsidies, incentives, delayed payment protection, and tender preferences. She also explained the eligibility criteria and required documents, including Aadhaar, PAN, bank account details, and proof of business address.
Encouraging the vendors to make use of the opportunity, she reminded them that the doorstep registration service was free during the drive, while post-event registration would require visiting the office and involve costs.
The Udyam Registration Drive aims to promote and support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the district. The campaign will also be conducted across six other locations in Kangpokpi district — Kangpokpi CC Hall, Gamnom Sapermeina CC Hall, Kuki Inpi Hall Saikul Bazar, T. Waichong High School Hall, Weinam CC Hall (Bungte Chiru), and Nachung CC Hall (Kangchup-Geljang).
Officials noted that such initiatives are a proactive step by the government to promote entrepreneurship, strengthen small businesses, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of Kangpokpi district.
