A three-week-long Skill Development Training Program, organized by the District Administration Kangpokpi in collaboration with Mustard Seed Foundation (MSF), concluded at Kanggui Christian College. The training, which began on June 17, saw the active participation of around 160 trainees.
The graduation ceremony was graced by Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi, who lauded the dedication of the participants, trainers, and organizers. He praised the initiative as a successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and emphasized the need for greater collaboration between government, civil society, and private sectors.
The program provided training in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, Baking, Food Processing, and Mushroom Cultivation. The DC appreciated the practical achievements of the trainees, noting that many electrical works in his office were carried out by them.
Chaudhari assured support in marketing trainees’ products and urged MSF to collaborate with the District Industry Office for FSSAI certification. He also pledged to advocate for financial assistance for trainees through banking channels under government schemes.
Certificates under the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industries were distributed during the ceremony. The district administration continues to run skill-based programs for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), many of whom are now gainfully employed, reflecting the long-term impact of these initiatives.
