As part of the 10th edition of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, the District Administration Kakching, in collaboration with the District Programme Office, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell, Kakching, organised street plays to raise awareness about the scheme at Wangoo Tera Makha Leikai Mandop and Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai Panchayat Ghar in Kakching district.

The street plays were performed by artistes from Liberty Theatre, Kakching, and aimed to highlight the importance of girl child education and protection under the BBBP initiative.

At Wangoo Tera Makha Leikai, the event was graced by Laishram Deben Singh, Pradhan, as the Chief Guest, with Ningthoujam Parango, District Project Officer/Child Development Project Officer (DPO/CDPO), Kakching, serving as President. Sanasam Bidyasagar Singh and Sanasam Open Singh, both local members, attended as Guests of Honour.

At Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai, the programme was attended by Shri Heisnam Ningthem Singh, Pradhan-in-charge, as Chief Guest, with Ningthoujam Parango again serving as President. Salam Biken Singh and Haobijam Rajmani Singh, both members, were present as Guests of Honour.

In addition to the street plays, a tree plantation drive was also carried out by the invited dignitaries and ICDS staff members, reinforcing the commitment to both social and environmental causes.
