The Television and Cine Foundation (TCF), a prominent community of filmmakers in Manipur, celebrated its 19th Foundation Day on Monday evening at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) auditorium.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities from the fields of art, culture, and media. Retired IAS officer RK Nimai graced the occasion as chief guest. Other dignitaries included Prof. Sheelaramani, former principal of DM College of Arts; MSFDS secretary Sunzu Bachaspatimayum; senior journalist N. Ebungochobi; and National Award-winning filmmaker Haobam Paban Kumar, who presided over the function.

The programme highlighted TCF’s notable contributions to the growth of Manipuri cinema over the past 19 years. The foundation has played a key role in fostering a vibrant cinematic culture in the state through regular screenings of critically acclaimed films, interactive sessions with filmmakers, incubation labs for emerging talents, pitching forums, and the promotion of documentary filmmaking rooted in real-life stories.

Beyond creative initiatives, TCF has also extended support to the film fraternity by recognising achievements in cinema and providing financial assistance to ailing members, demonstrating its solidarity and commitment to the community.

Speakers at the event lauded the foundation’s consistent efforts in promoting regional cinema and nurturing a strong film community. The 19th Foundation Day was celebrated not only as a milestone but also as a reaffirmation of TCF’s mission to uplift Manipuri cinema and inspire new generations of storytellers.
