In a historic homecoming, thousands of people thronged the Senapati Turf Ground, Tahamzam, to welcome Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser and General Secretary of the NSCN/GPRN, during a grand civic reception on Wednesday.

The massive event, organized by the United Naga Council (UNC) and hosted by the Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), drew an estimated crowd of around 30,000 people from across Senapati district and neighbouring regions. Dignitaries, officials, and delegates from various Naga organizations attended the event to pay tribute to the veteran Naga leader.

Muivah’s visit marked a momentous return to his ancestral roots in Somdal, Ukhrul district, after more than 50 years. The overwhelming turnout and emotional atmosphere reflected the enduring reverence and admiration he commands among the Naga people.

Following the programme, Th. Muivah departed for Camp Hebron by helicopter, concluding a landmark day in the district’s history.
