A combined team of Manipur Police and Central Security Forces arrested three drug smugglers, including two women, and seized around 213 soap cases of brown sugar from different locations in Senapati district.

On Friday, security forces arrested one Paogoulal Touthang (22), a resident of T. Gamnom village in Kangpokpi district, from Hengbung Police Outpost under Senapati Police Station. A search led to the recovery of 205 soap cases of brown sugar weighing 2.816 kg, ₹2.5 lakh in cash, a four-wheeler vehicle, a mobile handset with two SIM cards, and identification documents including an Aadhaar card, PAN card, and driving license.
On the same day, a Manipur Police team also arrested two women drug smugglers from Mao Gate Police Check Post in Senapati district. The accused were identified as B. Dinah (42) and H. Khune (45), both residents of Tunggam Afi village under Tungjoy Police Station, presently residing at TNK village in Senapati. Authorities recovered eight soap cases of brown sugar weighing 113 grams and two mobile phones from their possession.
The arrested individuals, along with the seized contraband and other items, have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal action, according to police reports.
