Manipur: Three Militants Of Banned Outfits Arrested, Arms And IEDs Recovered

Security forces arrested three militants belonging to two proscribed outfits in Manipur on Friday, police said on Saturday.

According to a police statement, two active cadres of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Apunba) were apprehended from Imphal West and Imphal East districts during separate operations.

In another operation, a member of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) was arrested from his residence at Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur district.

Meanwhile, security personnel recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the Khulsaibung hill range in Tengnoupal district. The recovered items include a single-barrel gun, two pistols and eight improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the statement added.

Further investigation is underway.
