Manipur: Two Arrested With Contraband Drugs In Separate Operations

Security forces have arrested two drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of contraband drugs in separate operations conducted across the state in the last 24 hours.

According to a police report, one of the arrested individuals has been identified as Md. Tajuddin (29) of Lilong Litan Makhong. He was apprehended on Thursday near Anita STD High School, Kwakta Pangal Lamkhai, under Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station in Bishnupur district. During the operation, security forces recovered 1,041 grams of brown sugar, a four-wheeler (registration number AS 26C 8774), and a mobile handset from his possession.

In a separate operation, security forces arrested another individual, Zamkholun Baite (40) of Songdo village, Churachandpur Sub-Division. He was nabbed at Moreh Gate No. 1, Assam Rifles checkpost, under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district. Authorities seized seven packets of WIY tablets, weighing approximately 1.5 kg, along with a mobile phone and a four-wheeler (registration number DL 3C BQ 2546).

The arrested individuals, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal proceedings, the report added.
