Security forces and Manipur Police arrested two cadres of different factions of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in separate operations on Monday.

In the first operation, a team of security forces apprehended Sapam Paikhomba Meitei (26), a cadre of KCP (Taibangnganba), from Waithou-Thiyam IVR under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district. The items which were recovered from his possession include one wireless handset (TYT) and six 9 mm live rounds.

In another operation, Manipur Police arrested Samom Davidson Meitei, alias Loya (32), an active member of KCP (MFL), from Thongju Pechulampak Pukhri under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district. He was reportedly involved in extorting money from shops in and around the Singjamei and Thongju areas. Items recovered from his possession include one mobile handset, wallet containing Rs. 1,990 and a driving license, two-wheeler.

Both individuals are in custody, and further investigations are underway.
