The week-long Van Mahotsav Celebration 2025, held from July 1 to 7 across Senapati district, concluded on a successful note with massive participation from local communities, educational institutions, government agencies, and civil society organisations.

During the celebration, over 1 lakh seedlings were planted across more than 38 locations in the district, marking a significant step towards environmental conservation and sustainability. The initiative not only promoted large-scale tree plantation but also raised awareness on forest conservation, sustainable living, and climate responsibility.

The event fostered a strong sense of community involvement and environmental stewardship, particularly among students and youth. Participating institutions included Savio School, Tungjoy; Don Bosco, Shajouba; Mount Gibeon School, Tadubi; Brookdale School; St. Xavier College; Naga Public School, Koide; Sprouting Oak’s Academy; Lao Radiant School; St. Anthony’s School; Lungnila Elizabeth College; Mt. Everest School; JNV Mao; and Sophia English School.

The Forest Department extended heartfelt gratitude to the District Administration, all line departments, security agencies, CSOs, village authorities, volunteers, and stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in making Van Mahotsav 2025 a grand success.

Officials stated that by actively involving the younger generation in environmental conservation, the event has sown the seeds for a greener and more sustainable future.
