As part of the Nation First @75 Campaign, a workshop on “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday” was held today at the Panchayat Conference Hall of Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat Office, organised by Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat in collaboration with Langmeidong Community Development (CD) Block, Kakching District.
The workshop emphasized the importance of social audits, raising awareness of their role in strengthening grassroots democracy, and discussed future planning and vision for Panchayats. Participants were also sensitized about various government schemes under departments such as Agriculture, Public Health Engineering, Social Welfare, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), and Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM).
Officials from the District Social Welfare Office, Manipur Social Audit Agency, and BDO Langmeidong Office took part in the programme. Around 150 participants, including Panchayat committee members, Self-Help Groups, club members, youths, and line department officials attended. Key attendees included Shri Mayengbam Ingocha Singh (MCS), BDO Langmeidong CD Block, and Shri Longjam Priyobrata Meitei, District Social Auditor, Manipur Social Audit Agency.
Similar workshops are scheduled for Mayeng Lamjao Gram Panchayat on September 24 and Langmeidong Gram Panchayat on September 25. The Nation First @75 Campaign aims to strengthen development and public service delivery with a focus on transparency and citizen participation for better governance.
