Mr. Veihriilou Lanah, son of Mr. L.R. Maki from Khamsom village in Senapati district, Manipur, has won the title of Mr. Deaf India 2025 at the 12th edition of the national pageant held in Punjab from August 30 to 31.
The event, jointly organized by the All India Deaf Arts and Cultural Society (AIDACS) and MNS Skills India Foundation, brought together contestants from across the country. Veihriilou impressed the judges with his confidence, cultural pride, and personality, earning not only the coveted crown but also the Best Personality Award.
Showcasing both traditional Naga attire and formal wear, Veihriilou reflected a blend of style and deep connection to his roots. Born deaf, he has faced numerous challenges, but his journey has become an inspiring story of resilience and determination.
Back in Manipur, the All Manipur Association of the Deaf and Mute celebrated his achievement, describing it as a milestone that symbolizes the strength and potential of differently-abled communities.
Veihriilou now prepares to represent India on international platforms, standing as a role model for the deaf community and beyond. His success is seen as a powerful reminder that perseverance and courage can overcome barriers, while true beauty lies in embracing one’s identity and uplifting others.
