Gangtok, Dec 31: McDonald’s has officially entered the Sikkim market with the opening of its first restaurant in Gangtok. The new outlet marks the fast-food chain’s second expansion into the North Eastern region, following its entry into Assam. The restaurant is operated by Connaught Plaza Restaurants, a key franchise partner of McDonald’s in India.
Rajeev Ranjan, Managing Director of McDonald’s India – North and East, expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, “We are thrilled to bring the McDonald’s experience to Gangtok, a vibrant and rapidly growing city, as part of our broader expansion plans in the Northeast.”
The Gangtok outlet, which spans 2,240 square feet, offers seating for 116 people and features a contemporary design. Connaught Plaza Restaurants operates 190 McDonald’s outlets and 75 McCafés across North and East India.
