The Urban Affairs Department of Meghalaya has successfully relocated street vendors from the congested Khyndailad area in Shillong to a designated vending zone in a nearby complex to reduce crowding and streamline urban management.
The move was undertaken after extensive consultations with the Town Vending Committee. Officials said the process was carried out smoothly with the support of street vendor associations, the Shillong Municipal Board, and the district administration.
