The Shooting Association of Meghalaya has started a series of trials to identify and train local shooting talent for the 39th National Games, which will be hosted in Shillong in 2027.

This will be the first time the state capital hosts the prestigious national event, featuring athletes from across India competing in multiple sporting disciplines.

Officials said the trials aim to provide local shooters with exposure and experience, strengthening Meghalaya’s prospects for a strong showing at the Games.
