Security has been intensified along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya ahead of Independence Day, a Border Security Force (BSF) official said on Tuesday.

The BSF is conducting ‘Operation Alert’ in coordination with Meghalaya Police and other law enforcement agencies. Extra troops have been deployed in forward areas to boost border surveillance and ensure peace and order.
