Meghalaya CM Announces ₹35 Lakh Grant For St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma attended the closing ceremony and silver jubilee celebrations of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School in Pynursla on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Sangma commended the Salesians and the Church for their long-standing contribution to education and community development in Meghalaya. He congratulated St. Anthony’s School on completing 25 years and praised its efforts in nurturing young minds and promoting quality education.

During the event, the Chief Minister announced a sanction of ₹35 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF) for the development of the school’s infrastructure. He also announced that St. Anthony’s would be included in the state government’s upcoming initiative to assist private and government-aided schools in upgrading to the higher secondary level.

Under the new program, educational institutions across Meghalaya will receive financial support ranging from ₹50 lakh to ₹1 crore to enhance infrastructure and improve access to education.
