Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday assured that the proposal to upgrade the approach road from Chisobibra Junction to Nengkhra via Williamnagar Town in East Garo Hills will be considered for implementation.
The assurance came following a meeting with a delegation of National People’s Party (NPP) members from East Garo Hills, led by state minister Marcuise N Marak. The delegation submitted a proposal for the construction of the road, highlighting its importance as a vital link that connects Williamnagar to National Highways NH-127B and NH-217.
In a social media post, Marcuise N Marak stated that the Chief Minister has assured the project will be taken up with assistance from the World Bank. He added that the road infrastructure project is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity, ease transportation, and enhance economic activities in the area.
The minister also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his continued support and commitment to the development of East Garo Hills and the overall progress of Meghalaya.
