Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Celebrates 54th Statehood Day At Baghmara

Shillong, Jan 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday marked the 54th Meghalaya Statehood Day at Baghmara, the first-ever celebration in the homeland of the state’s founding father, Captain Williamson A. Sangma.

Speaking on the occasion, Sangma highlighted the unity, sacrifices, and blessings that led to the creation of Meghalaya and emphasized that while the state has made significant progress, development must be reflected in the daily lives of its people.

He urged residents to rise above negativity and hatred and to remember the sacrifices of forefathers that made Meghalaya a reality. Sangma also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his greetings on Meghalaya Day and called for the state to move forward with unity, confidence, and determination.
