Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed confidence that the long-pending proposal to create a separate Meghalaya cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) will receive approval soon.
Speaking at the annual conference of the Meghalaya Civil Service Officers’ Association (MCSOA) on Friday, Sangma said the state government has been actively pursuing the matter since 2019.
He added that reforming and strengthening the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) remains a key priority for the government, with a focus on improving governance efficiency and service delivery.
