Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday handed over ₹39.17 crore to 26 sports associations in the state to support their preparations for the upcoming National Games 2027.
The funds are aimed at enhancing sports equipment and infrastructure ahead of the event. Additionally, the state government is investing over ₹1,900 crore to develop world-class sports infrastructure across Meghalaya, which is expected to benefit future generations of athletes.
The Chief Minister urged all associations to utilize the funds efficiently to ensure athletes are well-prepared, emphasizing the goal for Meghalaya to perform strongly as the host state in the medal tally.
