Shillong, May 28: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday inaugurated the Block Development Integrated Complex at Songsak C&RD Block in East Garo Hills district.
In a post on his official X handle, the Chief Minister said the infrastructure upgrade was supported under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. He stated that many block offices in the state had remained in poor condition for decades, and the scheme has enabled significant improvements.
Meghalaya has 56 Community and Rural Development (C&RD) Blocks. According to the Chief Minister, the SASCI scheme has helped provide better office infrastructure to enhance public service delivery.
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for implementing the scheme, stating that it is contributing to tangible improvements in rural areas.
