Meghalaya CM Lays Foundation For New School Building And Athletic Track In South Garo Hills

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday laid the foundation for the construction of a new building for Capt. Williamson Memorial Government Higher Secondary School at a cost of ₹7 crore.

The school is named after Meghalaya’s first Chief Minister, Capt. Williamson A. Sangma. According to the Chief Minister, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to benefit students in the region and contribute to overall development.

In a separate event, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation for a synthetic athletic track, including sub-base construction, at Baghmara in South Garo Hills district. The project is part of the state government’s initiative to improve sports infrastructure and support youth talent across Meghalaya.
