Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma laid the foundation stone for the Additional Secretariat Complex in Tura. The ₹156 crore project aims to decentralise administrative services and bring governance closer to the people of Garo Hills.
According to the Chief Minister, the new complex will ensure easier access to government services for the residents of the region. He termed the event a significant milestone for both Garo Hills and the state.

During the programme, Sangma also shared updates on other key infrastructure initiatives, including the ₹1,800 crore New Secretariat project in Shillong, Mini Secretariats in Jowai and Pynursla, and the ₹900 crore Tura bypass.
He stated that the government is focused on building infrastructure for the next 100 years to benefit both urban and rural parts of Meghalaya, with a mission to ensure equitable development across the state.
