Shillong, May 23: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has announced plans to rebuild the 49-year-old Nongspung A Garo L.P. School in Nonspung A village under the Jirang constituency. The school, established in 1976, is in a dilapidated condition and serves students from the remote area.

During his maiden visit to the village, the Chief Minister said the redevelopment will be carried out in a phase-wise manner through the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF) in convergence with other government schemes.

In addition to addressing infrastructure needs, Sangma also distributed a guitar and footballs to the students to promote extracurricular activities.
