Marking the 50th Statehood Day celebrations, the Meghalaya Government have declared a general holiday on January 21, 2022.
According to an official order, all government offices, revenue & magisterial courts in the state, educational institutions and institutions governed by the Negotiable Instruments (NI) Act will remain closed on the concerned date.
Its worthy to note that Meghalaya along with Tripura & Manipur attained the recognition of a full-fledged state with effect from January 21, 1972 under the North Eastern Region (Reorganization) Act, 1971.
