The Meghalaya High Court has hailed the successful and peaceful relocation of roadside hawkers from the Khyndailad area in Shillong.

The remarks were made on Tuesday after the bench, headed by Chief Justice I P Mukerji, reviewed a report submitted by Special Officer Subhasis Chakrawarty, who was appointed to oversee the relocation process.

It appears from this report and the submission made before us that the exercise has been peaceful and successful, the court observed.
