Shillong, Dec 21: The much-anticipated Christmas Carnival, organized by the Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project (MGMP), officially commenced on December 20, 2024, at the State Central Library in Shillong. The event was inaugurated by Paul Lyngdoh, the Minister of Tourism.

The carnival, which will run until December 24, 2024, features a vibrant mix of musical performances, cultural exhibits, and festive activities, starting daily at 4:00 PM. The event is expected to attract both locals and tourists, offering a celebration of Meghalaya’s rich cultural heritage and the festive spirit.

The MGMP Christmas Carnival is expected to be a major highlight of the holiday season in Shillong, providing a unique and immersive cultural experience for all.
