The State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya has entered into a partnership with the Sri Aurobindo Society to implement ‘Project Inclusion’ in government schools across the state.
According to officials, the initiative is planned as a five-year programme aimed at integrating children with diverse learning needs into the mainstream education system.
As part of the project, teachers will undergo specialised training and use digital tools, including the Project Inclusion App, to identify and support students with conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The programme also provides professional development opportunities for special educators, including access to digital modules that offer Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)-approved Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) points.
Officials stated that the initiative will be implemented across all districts, with a focus on strengthening inclusive education practices and improving classroom support systems for students with varying learning needs.
