Shillong, Aug 14: The BSF has sealed the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya as a joint operation is underway to capture armed infiltrators involved in an attack on a village in South West Khasi Hills district.
The operation is focused on the Majersora-Hathinala forest belt and involves the BSF, Meghalaya Police, and Village Defence Party members, with a K-9 dog squad deployed to track the intruders, officials said.
BSF sources reported that on August 8, at least eight armed men crossed the border in the Bagli sector, assaulted a civilian, vandalised property, and attempted to abduct a resident in Rongdangai village.
