Shillong, May 13: Self Help Group (SHG) members from Meghalaya met Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar at his office in New Delhi, an interaction described by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma as a moment of great honour and encouragement.
The Chief Minister highlighted that SHG members across the state have become symbols of resilience and community leadership. He stated that through hard work and determination, these women have broken barriers and are now leading efforts to uplift and transform their communities.
Sangma emphasised that Meghalaya’s growing SHG network represents a larger movement that empowers women to take charge of development at the grassroots level. He thanked the Vice President for his warm reception and motivational words, adding that the experience would remain a cherished memory for the visiting SHG members.
